C2 Tactical Course Curriculum: P100
Introduction to Handguns
Available in a Single Morning or Evening

Where do you start? What do you need to know to be safe? C2 Tactical’s Introduction to Handguns course is a 3-4 hour course designed for those individuals with little-to-no handgun experience. Following the classroom instruction, students will have the opportunity to practice the skills learned in class with live-fire experience. If you are a beginner with little-to-no experience, this is the class for you.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

•  Universal Firearm Safety

•  Different types of handguns

•  Types of ammunition

•  Safe loading and unloading procedures

•  Live-fire exercises to demonstrate proper loading and unloading and safe handling procedures learned

2-3 hours class time and 1 hour range time

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use.

Handguns may be rented at no cost but will require you to purchase C2 Tactical’s range ammunition for use.

FUNDAMENTAL SHOOTING SKILLS

C2 Tactical Course Curriculum: P200
Fundamental Shooting Skills

This course is designed around learning the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns both safely and accurately, and is the second-level class in the C2 Tactical Pistol Curriculum. The Fundamental Shooting Skills course is 4 hours with a high instructor-to-student ratio, allowing for close, personal hands-on attention while still being in a relaxed classroom environment. Course instruction includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live-fire practice. This class is designed for anyone that cannot shoot consistent 2” groups at 21ft.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

•  Excellent for beginners to intermediate shooters

•  Key fundamental features include grip, proper operation of your firearm, stance, sight alignment, and trigger squeeze

•  Learn and review universal firearm safety

•  Practice one of the hardest to master skills – trigger control

•  Excellent review for seasoned shooters that have not been shooting for a while and would like to group their rounds within 2 inches at 21ft.

•  Skills required for anyone looking at the Concealed Carry course

•  Skills required for students interested in moving on to the more advanced shooting courses

2 hours class time and 2 hours range time

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 100 rounds of ammunition for the firearm you will use

Handguns may be rented at no cost but will require you to purchase C2 Tactical’s range ammunition for use

PRACTICAL SHOOTING SKILLS

C2 Tactical Course Curriculum: P300
Practical Shooting Skills

The Practical Shooting course is the third in the sequence of handgun instruction at C2 Tactical. It builds upon the skills found in the Fundamental Shooting course and on your own personal experience. Our Practical Shooting Skills course focuses on the more complex movements required for advanced level shooting. The class is 7 to 8 hours in one day or broken up over two days, and includes classroom work, hands-on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills while working through malfunctions under stress.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

•  Proper methods to draw from the holster (Strong Side)

•  Accuracy with shooting the first shot from the holster

•  Multi-round shots & follow through

•  Appropriate sight picture at various target distances

•  Advanced reloading techniques, advanced malfunction clearances

•  Shooting under stress and follow through assessment

1 hour class time, remainder is range time

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. All necessary equipment is available for purchase for most firearms.

Equipment and supplies required:

Class requires eye and ear protection and at least 500 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you will use

Semi-automatic pistol with three (3) magazines and spare magazine carrier or a revolver with three (3) speed loaders and carrier for speed loaders

A quality strong-side holster that has 2 points of contact and does not collapse (no shoulder holsters, purse holsters, or appendix carry, these skills can be taught privately and in specialty courses.) See range for details.

Defensive Handgun Skills

The Defensive Handgun Skills course is the fourth in the sequence of handgun instruction at C2 Tactical and builds upon the skills found in the Practical Shooting Skills course. The class is 7 to 8 hours one day or broken up over two days, and includes classroom work, hands-on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills.

Instructors: All instructors for this course are required to have NRA Certification and/ or have prior Military, Law Enforcement or competitive shooting backgrounds

Focus areas within this course include:

• Will include all previously learned skills (now incorporating flashlight manipulation)

• Draw stroke can include concealment if you choose

• Advanced reloading & malfunction drills

• Basic shooting with cover/concealment

• Basic low light shooting techniques

1 hour class time, remainder is range time

Class Prerequisites:

Students must have the basic skills required to safely load unload and operate their firearm without any assistance and be able to consistently shoot 4” groups at 21ft. Students MUST have all appropriate equipment and gear prior to attending this course. Failure to meet these guidelines will prohibit you from attending the course. • Advanced shooting with movement/low light

• Advanced shooting with cover/concealment/low light

• Advanced low light shooting techniques

The class is 7 to 8 hours one day or broken up over two days, and includes classroom work, hands on dry-fire practice and live-fire drills.

Focus areas within this course include:

• Advanced shooting with movement one handed

• Advanced shooting with cover/concealment one handed

• Advanced malfunction clearances one handed

Advanced Pistol Operator

This class will enhance your previously learned skills as well as add advanced weapons handling techniques. Each student should have a fair amount of subconscious performance already learned prior to attendance.

This course devotes more time evolving your skills and creating more economy of motion and efficiency to your shooting platform. By adding pressure to the shooter’s environment this course will allow students to evaluate their proficiency and build a more productive platform for their success.

After completion of this course the student will be able to quickly and accurately engage multiple targets, transitioning from primary to secondary weapons, move and effectively utilize cover, shoot from unconventional positions and be exposed to both close quarters shooting applications and firing under stress.

LOW LIGHT OPERATIONS

C2 Tactical Course Curriculum: LLO
Low Light Operations – Carbine or Handgun

Over 50% of personal violence encounters occur during low light environments. This class is designed to provide you with the techniques and experience to be effective in these situations. The course will cover utilizing your firearm with a light source, ambient light sources (ex. street lights, car lights, and ambient lighting), and the tactical advantage of complete darkness. After completion of this course you will understand the application and uses of weapon mounted light and flashlight techniques. You will also be able to demonstrate proper weapon manipulation in low light or darkness.

Focus areas within this course include:

• Types of flashlights, weapon light, night sights, accessories, etc.

• Tactical handgun flashlight techniques (handheld/mounted)

• Weapon manipulation with a flashlight

• Use of cover and concealment with a flashlight

• Accurately engaging targets in low/no light situations from various positions

• Avoiding the pitfalls of shooter illumination (light discipline)

• Fundamentals Review
